Terms of service
By using Chalkset you agree to these terms. They are written to be read, so please do.
1. Who can use it
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms on your behalf. You are responsible for anything done through your account.
2. What you upload
You keep ownership of everything you create or upload. You grant Chalkset a limited licence to store, process and display it for the purpose of running the service — and, if you choose to publish a set, to show that set to other users.
You must have the right to upload what you upload. Syllabi, lecture slides, problem sets, textbook pages and exam papers are usually the copyrighted work of an instructor or publisher, and many institutions explicitly prohibit redistributing them. Material you upload to the AI set builder stays private to you, which is why that is allowed; publishing a set built from someone else's copyrighted material is not.
3. Publishing
Making a set public lets any user view, study and save it, with your handle shown as the author. You can unpublish at any time, but copies other users have forked remain theirs. Do not publish material that is not yours to share, that identifies a specific course, section or instructor, or that reproduces exam questions from a live assessment.
4. Academic integrity
Chalkset is a practice tool. Do not use it during an exam, quiz, or assignment where outside assistance is prohibited, and do not use it to complete graded work in a course that forbids AI assistance. Complying with your institution's academic integrity policy is your responsibility, and those rules override anything convenient about this service.
5. Accuracy
Generated problems are tested against an independent computer algebra system, and set content is written carefully — but the service is provided as is, without warranty that every problem, answer, explanation or AI-drafted card is correct. Do not rely on it as your only source, and check anything that matters. Report errors to asarrett@chalkset.com.
6. Acceptable use
- No scraping, bulk downloading, or automated access outside normal use of the site.
- No uploading malware, or attempting to break, overload or circumvent the service or its limits.
- No harassing, hateful, sexual, or illegal content in anything you publish.
- No reselling or redistributing the generated content as your own product.
7. Copyright complaints
If you believe material on Chalkset infringes your copyright, send a notice to asarrett@chalkset.com including: identification of the work, the URL of the material, your contact details, a statement that you believe in good faith the use is unauthorised, a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and that you are authorised to act, and your signature. Infringing material will be removed promptly and repeat infringers' accounts terminated.
8. Availability and changes
The service may change, break, or be discontinued. We will give reasonable notice before deliberately shutting it down, and provide a way to export your data. Features described as previews may be removed.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Chalkset is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the accuracy of content, loss of data, or a grade you did or did not receive. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Termination
You may stop using Chalkset at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, with notice where practical.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
